Step into the shoes of a rancher or a vaquero (Guyanese cowboy) and bask in the unparalleled beauty of nature.
The Savannah
Today’s Rupununi Savannah ranches stay true to their historical essence. Throughout your ranch holiday, you’ll be encompassed by awe-inspiring vistas. The boundless stretches of the savannah seamlessly merge into jungle-covered mountains on the horizon. The pristine creeks and lakes invite you for wild swims, followed by lounging in the sun or relishing a meal under the canopy of an ité palm. This mesmerising terrain is steeped in the tales of El Dorado, the legendary city of gold. Sir Walter Raleigh, captivated by the allure of the legendary Lake Parime and its golden aura, explored these parts. While he might not have stumbled upon the treasures he sought, today’s Rupununi in Guyana is undeniably legendary.
Ranch Adventures
Our offerings are two distinct ranch holidays: the Vaquero Experience and the Trail Ride. The Vaquero Experience is tailored for those who amalgamate diligent work with exhilarating outdoor adventures. Partner with seasoned vaqueros and delve into the intricate operations of a traditional ranch.
The Trail Ride offers a unique riding journey for those eager to traverse the landscape. Saddle up and ride across the vast savannah, with nights spent under the starlit sky or in quaint community lodges. Guided by a crew of genuine vaqueros and a knowledgeable Wild Tales guide, witness nature in its purest form.
Whether you’re a novice or an experienced horse rider, our ranch adventures cater to all. On the Vaquero Experience, you’ll hone your skills on the go, while on the Trail Ride, the Western riding style is our approach – yet, if you’re versed in English or Group riding, that’s perfectly fine.
