About Our Trips

Everything you need to know before booking your adventure

We offer a range of carefully designed adventure experiences across Guyana’s rainforest and savannah regions:

Jungle Survival Courses – Learn traditional and modern survival skills through hands-on training in real jungle environments
Jungle Bushcraft Courses – Focus on traditional Makushi skills, learning directly from indigenous instructors in North Rupununi
Jungle Expeditions – Multi-day journeys into remote areas using trekking, river travel, and expedition-style living
Fishing in Guyana – Target iconic Amazonian species such as Peacock Bass, Payara, and Arapaima in remote and untouched waters
Adventure Tours – Comfortable and fully guided trips focusing on wildlife, culture, and immersive rainforest experiences

All experiences are built around small groups, strong local partnerships, and deep knowledge of the environment.

Our guests come from all over the world and from many different backgrounds—solo travelers, couples, photographers, professionals, adventurers, and occasionally film crews or military personnel. Most are between their 30s and 60s, but we regularly host both younger and older participants.

You do not need prior experience. What matters most is your mindset—if you are curious, adaptable, and open to new experiences, you will fit in well.

We typically operate with small groups of 6–12 participants to ensure a high-quality and safe experience.

Guyana is one of the most biodiverse regions in South America. You may encounter monkeys, macaws, caimans, giant river otters, tapirs, and possibly jaguar.

Guyana has both wet and dry seasons. The dry season generally offers easier travel and more wildlife viewing, while the rainy season provides a lush and dynamic rainforest experience.

Yes, most dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice. Some limitations may apply in remote or survival settings.

Everything you need to know before booking your adventure

You can book by contacting us at info@thewildtales.com or sending us a message on whatsapp. We will guide you through the process and help you choose the right trip.

We accept bank wire transfers. Payment instructions are provided after booking.

A quick note: we know wiring funds to an unfamiliar country can feel like a leap. Guyana’s banking system doesn’t yet support the card and online payment platforms most international businesses rely on, so this is currently the only way we can securely accept international payments. To make it straightforward, you’ll receive a formal invoice with full company and bank details before paying, and we’re always happy to jump on a call first. Past guest references are available on request.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days before departure.

– 90+ days before departure: refund minus deposit
– 60–90 days before departure: 50% refund minus deposit
– Less than 60 days: no refund

Due to the remote nature of our operations, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellations.

Travel Safety & Health

Everything you need to know before booking your adventure

Yes. Guyana is safe, particularly in the interior regions where our trips operate—normal precautions should be taken in urban areas.

As for the trips themselves, all our experiences take place in remote environments where risk is naturally present. We manage this through experience, planning, and structured safety procedures. Our team consists of experienced instructors and indigenous guides with deep local knowledge, and we operate with safety briefings, risk assessments, medical protocols, and evacuation plans in place at all times.

Our guides are trained in wilderness first aid and carry appropriate medical kits. Minor issues are treated on-site, while more serious situations are handled through evacuation to the nearest medical facility.

All participants must have valid travel insurance covering both treatment and evacuation.

A yellow fever vaccination is typically required for entry into Guyana. Additional vaccinations may be recommended—consult your doctor well in advance.

Yes. All participants must complete a confidential medical declaration prior to joining. This allows us to prepare properly and ensure your safety.
